LFC LAUNCH

We are excited to launch our Little free Closet on February 1st 2023!

WHAT IS A LITTLE FREE CLOSET AND HOW DOES THE LITTLE FREE CLOSET WORK?

The Kirk Centre’s Little Free Closet is an easy way for neighbors to help neighbors who need seasonally appropriate clothing items.

Even though its home is on the Kirk Centre property, this belongs to all of us. Please take care of it and the space around it. The items have been organized in Ziploc bogs and should be taken as a whole package. Please DO NOT open all the Ziploc bags.

GIVE WHAT YOU CAN by donating gently used or new gloves, mittens, toques, blankets or jackets in the winter and new only please socks, undershirts, underwear all year round to the Kirk Centre staff or Little Free Closet Custodian Volunteer. Please give what you would want to receive. No gift is too small. A single pair of socks can help. Used items must be washed and in good repair. Kirk Centre will not accept bags dropped at the front door without prior communication.

TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED. If you need items, take them and know the community cares about you. This closet works on the honor system and is designed to be self-regulated so that you may keep the dignity of not needing to ring the bell and ask for clothing. Please remember the closet belongs to all of us so take only what you truly need and leave items for others who are also in need. Trust that the Little Free closet will be here for you again in the future.
